Your Questions

We recommend using 300dpi artwork preferably in Illustrator format, but as a bare minimum you should aim for 150dpi. Please note that this may impact on the quality when printed.

All print ready artwork should be submitted in PDF format. We can also accept Illustrator (EPS/AI), Photoshop (PSD) or packaged Indesign files. Please note that we will send you back a PDF proof prior to print if you are unable to submit a PDF.

All vehicle graphics files should be submitted in Illustrator (EPS/AI), CorelDraw (CDR) or PDF. These should have all fonts and strokes converted to outlines. Of course if there is anything you are unsure about we are happy to help.

The short answer is no. We offer a huge range of colours of vinyl ready to be cut to the shape or text you require. These vinyls require no lamination and can be applied directly once cut on our plotter.

Artwork should be supplied in CMYK only. If you submit your artwork in RGB or sRGB it will be converted to CMYK automatically when it is printed. This can result in colours not being reproduced accurately.

Our vinyls range from very short term promotional vinyl, right through to high end long term vinyls that can last up to 10 years.

Bleed allows edge to edge printing, so if you want your artwork to go to the edge of the page you need to add bleed. We recommend making your bleed area a minimum of 3mm. For example if you require an A5 (148mm x 210mm) page and you want edge to edge print, you should make your document 154mm x 216mm.

There are 3 main materials that we use for signs

  1. ACM - This stands for Aluminium Composite Material, but can also be known as Dibond (a brand name). Comprising of two aluminium sheets bonded to a plastic core. It’s a great material for signage because it is flexible, durable and weatherproof. We suggest this material for all external signage, whether it’s shop facials, hording, hanging signs, road signs etc
  2. Foam PVC - A, lightweight PVC foam sheet, that’s durable with a low water absorption rate. Also know by the brand name Foamex, it is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. It comes in a range of colours and is a popular material for internal signage on a budget.
  3. Correx – is a fluted, or corrugated board. You would know it best as the material used to produce estate agent ‘For Sale’ signs, Correx is an ideal material to produce temporary signs. Tough and lightweight, it comes in a number of colours and thicknesses. Correx is fully recyclable and is used a lot for outdoor signs, like estate agent boards or site signage for builders.

Sometimes we produce signs in steel however for the majority of people this isn’t needed as we would predominantly use this for extra long life signage such as road signs or council signage like large park signs.

The length of time it takes to make a sign can depends on materials, usage and complexity. Our team will endeavour to meet your deadlines and turnaround time. We will discuss with you the timescale you are looking at and come to a decision that will meet both yours and our schedules. If we are fitting the signage then this will also need to be taken into account.

Depending on the materials, signs may need to be cleaned over time, especially outdoor signage. If asked our team will let you know our recommendations for maintenance based on your sign. It’s important to avoid damage from harsh cleaners. Use only a soap and water mixture and avoid any cleaning product that contain chemicals such as ammonia.

All of our signs are priced on size and complexity. The easiest way to cost your sign is to give us a call to discuss your needs. We are always happy to try to work to your budget and will come up with the best solution that we can within this.

In reality there are no ‘standard’ size signs as a lot of our clients are after bespoke size signage to fit areas at the front of their premises or to fit existing fixings. We can however produce to all the standard paper sizes A0, A1, A2 etc. Sign sizes generally always have been and always will be a personal preference.
